Isabel H- 15. The End

The finality of the trip snuck up on me this day. I started the day shopping, purchasing last-minute items that I had wanted to buy. We stopped by the LEGO store, and they had this giant LEGO mural of the Trevi Foutain which was extremely impressive. I had to buy a second suitcase for all the goodies I had gotten throughout the course of the trip. I got it in forest green and it was super cute although sadly the zipper inside snapped from holding everything. When I got back to my apartment I ate jollibee (I was jollibee’s strongest solider literally the best fried chicken I’d had in a minute).

Nico suggested that we leave early to San. Clemente and so we took the train which wasn’t packed or anything. When we got there we were surprised that everyone was running late due to the protests so we sat down together and drank iced coffee in the meantime. A man from Los Angelos was trying to understand what to do with the protests but we also had no idea. We explained that we were here on a study abroad and how were here for three weeks and he said we were basically experts.

Later the class met up and went inside the church which I went the first week on my own which I thought was a funny way to wrap up the three weeks abroad. I found that the creators of the cyrillic alphabet and the connection to the church fasinating. I also liked how everything was mismatched due to the repurposing of stones, columns, etc. I liked the underground expeditions I have had during the course of the trip.

Dinner was amazing, I had fried calamari and roasted potatoes which I have been wanting to try during the trip but haven’t had the chance. I also had the lemon sorbet which was delicious and I am craving more. The conversations were fun and I enjoyed writing the cards. When I left it was bitter sweet but I had to buy wine and olive oil and the only Pewex that was open was about to close in 30 minutes. I sped walked so fast and made it with lots of wine and olive oil to the point where I had to uber home. The uber home was bitter sweet as I listened to my music and drove past the sites.

When I returned to the apartment packing was rough. I definitely had a lot to bring and my suitcases were so heavy. One was packed so tight that it actually bursted at the seams (rip suitcase). I fell asleep extremely late and woke up early enough to get myself ready and get in the uber.

OMG your poor luggage! She was a trooper and at least made it home with all your spoils and souvenirs! The last night was definitely bittersweet for me, too. I was definitely looking forward to my creature comforts back home, but I’d be lying if I said I was happy to leave. I’m going to miss Italy, and Caio Mario 8

I am literally going to get Caio Mario 8 tattooed on my forehead. I’m glad we went to San Clemente early, we were just chilling, unaware that everyone was struggling trying to get there lol. Rest in peace to your luggage though, I’m glad it made it back to the states in one piece!
