On this day, I went to Capri with Rachel, Joe, and Jibriel. The ferry ride there was so spectacular. I love boat rides so even though it was a brief (about 20 minutes) ferry from Sorrento (where we were staying) to the island of Capri I still enjoyed it. There was a free beach on Capri on Marina Piccolo, but it was on the other side of the island. We decided to trek up the hills to see the views, and even though it was about a UV index of 11 and I was sweating, I still really enjoyed it. I think the best way to explore a place is by walking.
We finally arrived to the beach and the plunge in the water was great after being in the heat for so long. I took my phone to the water (maybe a bit too risky), but the photos turned out great for everyone, I hope to get photo credits. We ate after near the beach, and it was interesting because I noticed more restaurants had a longer siesta time where they would close at 4 pm and only open back up at 7 pm. After, we scaled a mountain and we saw amazing views of the island and the small ships below, and then we made it to a garden. The garden was beautiful and after we got the famous lemon ice cream in lemons.
We bought some souvenirs and got on the ferry back home. Rachel and I went back to casa orange (our airbnb) and we decided to go out for a nice dinner. While walking past the multiple Italian restaurants along the way we happened to see a Thai place called The orange tree restaurant. We decided to go in because even though pasta is great it does get a bit tiring eating so many carbs each day. The thai food was amazing and they even gave us fortune cookies at the end. 100% recommend to anyone who will be in that area because it soon became mine and Rachel’s favorite spot.
