The day before, on June 7th, I downloaded RedNote, a so-called TikTok refugee sanctuary, a few months ago. On the same day, I also learned about the rose petal shower at the Pantheon that happens annually on June 8th. It is unfortunate💔. I already booked the ticket to the Castel Sant’Angelo days prior to acquiring this piece of information. It did make me feel a bit down, in a way that I blamed my own decision. I mean, the castle is not going to grow legs and run away, I have plenty of time to choose when to visit; it is just not as significant when compared to an annual and popular event that happens to take place in the Pantheon. Is the feeling of missing out on a unique and time-restricted event that I could’ve avoided eating me alive😭.
Is ok, there will always be next year🥲.
The birds in Rome are such divas. They go wherever they want, no one will be there to bother them or stop them.
Walking inside the castle, I mostly saw religion-related arts, church elements stood out more when compared to tomb elements.
I think of Cunk on Earth whenever I see art representaations of Jesus. That one famous phrase “Jesus was killed because people didn’t like what he was saying. So could you call him the first celebrity victim of cancel culture?” (Philomena Cunk) Love how this generation doesn’t take certain things seriously.
Thanks to RedNote, I now have a list of sweet treats/food locations I want to try. Or should I say to experience the food culture? Arranging from gelato, tiramisu, maritozzo, porchetta, vanilla slice, and definitely more on the way. Anyway, after the castle, I went to this tiramisu place and bought not one, but two cups of tiramisu. Holding/devouring🐺 two cups of sweet treats in hands while walking aimlessly in the streets of Rome, now that’s what I call Rat Walk🤓.
