Getting to Italy was a trek! I flew via Turkish Airlines which was an amazing experience. You get with your ticket two different checked bags, a carry on, and a personal item. My layover in Istanbul was a three hour stay at their lounge and it was just great. I am most excited to see the Colosseum because I want to cosplay being a gladiator. I did have an impromptu conversation with my seat mate about rome and what to see. My favorite Italian word is mangiare because I love to eat. I also like cibo and trattoria because of the same reason. My favorite quote is “There are taxi stands in piazzas and at stations, but the best way is to phone from a hotel, restaurant, or bar.” Because in Uzbekistan we also have taxi stands and that kinda reminded me of that. My family just told me to be safe and remain calm at all times. I find this to be honestly extremely rudimentary advice but I took it because I am a polite young man. I am also super excited for the weekends because I want to see the North of Italy during this trip. I left the second checked bag empty as it will be my souvenirs and whatever I could not pack bag. I packed quite a lot of things with me specifically of the linen variety so I was extremely pleased to see an ironing board.

This was the gift bag you got with your flight to Turkish Airlines and it had an eyemask, slippers, and some complimentary toiletries.

The views were amazing and seeing the Mediterranean while landing was so beautiful. The vibes of airplane were not the best as there was a baby crying which bother me but still it was not that bad. I did enjoy the food but that was not a shock I love any food!

Coming from Istanbul it was quite easy. Only a three hour flight was all that I had to complete with a pretty modern plane. They offered food and drinks on the flight but I only took part in the beverages and not the food as I was pretty full. The flight was also early in the morning so thats why I was not so hungry. I am however not excited for the flight back as it is longer going back than going there so the annoying flight will be exacerbated. In terms of resources I don’t believe there is any better than just practicing. I live in an Italian neighborhood so it is not hard to hear people speak but once i got here I have just been trying to use my Italian as much as possible.
